Ask any Dubai contractor which sheet size their drawing register runs on and the answer is usually A1. It is large enough that a 1:100 floor plan or a 1:50 detail sheet remains legible, and small enough that a set of twenty sheets can be rolled, tubed and delivered to a site office without difficulty. That balance is why most consultants set their title blocks up at A1 in the first place.

Because A1 sets get reissued with every revision, they are usually the highest-volume item on a project. Working copies get marked up, folded, dirtied and replaced.
